Liani MK is an independent journalist, writer, and artist based in Malaysia. Her work focuses on migration, language, gender, film, culture, and indigeneity. She is a recipient of the Said Zahari Young Journalist Award 2022, the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s grant on human trafficking and modern slavery, and the APWLD Media Fellowship on Migration and Migrant Women’s Human Rights. Her work has appeared on New Naratif, Southeast Asia Globe, and The New York Times.
