Anup Kaphle

Anup Kaphle is the editor-in-chief for Rest of World. He joined Rest of World in February 2020, and helped launch the publication in May of that year.
Kaphle has been working in journalism for more than 15 years, and his past experience includes working as the editor-in-chief of the Kathmandu Post, the executive editor at Roads & Kingdoms, deputy foreign editor at BuzzFeed News, and six years at The Washington Post, where he worked on the foreign desk as the digital editor.
He has a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and has received a Eugene Meyer Award, a SAJA Reporting Fellowship, and was a Poynter 2022 Media Transformation Challenge Program Fellow.
